Every year, the Bracket Awards showcase the very best in advertising, design and broadcast work from Central Pennsylvania. It’s our marquee event and is truly inspiring to see the great work produced in our region. This year, we had an outstanding set of firms submit some amazing work.

Our Judges

Steven Brower

Professor and Author, Marywood University

Steven is an American graphic designer, and writer, born in New York City. His work appears regularly in international and national design annuals and books on design, and he writes for several publications. He is the principal of Steven Brower Design and the former creative director for PRINT, and has been an art director for The New York Times and The Nation magazine. The recipient of numerous awards, his work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution. He has authored over one dozen books on the subjects of design, music and pop culture. He is director of the “Get Your Master’s With The Masters” MFA program for designers and illustrators at Marywood University in Scranton, PA.

Matt Hummel

VP Consumer Strategy & Design, Paragon

Matt Hummel serves as the Chief Experience Officer and Vice President Consumer Strategy & Design at Paragon, a premier enterprise web solutions provider. Matt leads all aspects of consumer strategy, research and design for Paragon’s clients–bringing extensive experience in the healthcare vertical. He assumed this role in 2019 when Paragon acquired his consultancy, Red Privet. Matt has over 25 years of consumer strategy and design experience. Over the years, he has led successful consulting engagements with top firms including Walt Disney Imagineering, Fisher-Price, General Motors, Citigroup and Paychex.

Megan Halsey

Children’s Book Illustrator, Simon & Schuster

Megan Halsey is an award-winning illustrator, designer and licensed artist. Her work can be found in national and international magazines and children’s books, and on wall art, textiles, greeting cards, gifts and packaging. Her fine art paintings have been accepted into regional and national juried shows and recently received an award of excellence.

She is a past chair of the Lansdowne Arts Board and former director of arts & crafts at the Lansdowne Arts Festival. She is co-founder of the group Women Creating Community Lansdowne.

A former undergraduate professor, Megan currently runs workshops and teaches in Marywood University’s MFA program, Get Your Masters With The Masters, where she received her advanced degree

Leslie Hanson

Senior Art Director, Bombas

From Harlem NY, Leslie is currently Senior Art Director at Bombas, an NYC-based 1-for-1 apparel company with a mission to change homelessness. Leslie is an Art Director, DJ, Graphic Designer, Photographer, Actor, and Event Promoter; working with brands including MTV, Grubhub, Seamless, Dapper Dan, Kaplan Inc., and has been featured in GD USA, AAF, and Creativity Awards, and judged for LE BOOK and New York Festivals.

James S. Klunk

President, Klunk & Millan Advertising

Jim Klunk founded Klunk & Millan Advertising in 1989, drawing on experience as art and creative director at two prominent advertising agencies. As president of the Lehigh Valley-based (PA) company, he provides key leadership to development of strategic marketing programs, as well as management of the firm.

Jim has guided Klunk & Millan to emerge as a premier full-service agency offering integrated services including brand strategy, web, digital, PR, and media for B2B and B2C clients.

Jim has a BFA in Advertising from Kutztown University where he has also served as adjunct instructor, teaching design and advertising courses.

As a business leader committed to his community, Jim is an active volunteer with numerous nonprofit and business organizations.

Lissa Richards

Lead Customer Experience Strategist, Paragon

Lissa is a customer experience researcher, strategist and design lead. She uses human-centered design practices to understand consumers, identify pain points, and find opportunities to meet customers’ needs and achieve business goals. Lissa currently works at Paragon Inc., where she helps clients like Duke Health, PSECU, and Penn National Insurance improve customer experience, craft loyalty-building customer strategies and design award-winning digital products. Lissa grew up in Philadelphia, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, and now calls Harrisburg home.

Dean Kistner

Creative Director, Marlo Marketing

Originally from Williamsport, PA, Dean has worked for advertising agencies in Pennsylvania, Southern California and currently serves as Creative Director at Marlo Marketing in Boston, MA. He has several years of big brand experience, including Auction.com, Bosch, Caesarstone, Pella Windows, Steak ‘n Shake and Yamaha to name a few. He also has considerable experience in healthcare, EdTech and luxury jewelry marketing.

Andrew Moffatt

Actor / Film Producer, STW Talent Agency

Andrew is an actor, filmmaker and theater lover represented by the STW Talent Agency. He’s most recognized for his acting work with CBS, CNN, and the ID Channel television networks but, you can see a bulk of his directorial work in the Philadelphia Eagles media archives. Andrew’s training spans from Shakespearian prose to intense combat and weapon manipulation, but he is most proud of his experience with Long Form improve from the Upright Citizens Brigade. Andrew’s lives in Philadelphia PA and can be found at the world-renowned Walnut Street Theater.

Amanda Lenig

Assistant Professor of Graphic Design, Susquehanna University

As an accomplished professional designer and creative director her work has been recognized by Graphic Design USA, the American Advertising Awards (AAF), Creative Quarterly and American Graphic Design and Advertising (AGDA). Her illustration work has been exhibited in the Association of Illustrators (AOI) gallery in London as well as Anderson University in Indiana. She earned her undergraduate degree in graphic design from Susquehanna University and an MFA from Marywood University.
